Hi! I’m Desi, the owner and panettiere behind

[desi]gn cakes & cupcakes. 

 

​You could say I have a major sweet tooth and a love for cooking! My passion for baking began at age seven when my mom gifted me an Easy-Bake Oven for Christmas (yes, I started baking with lightbulbs!), and I’ve been hooked ever since.

​

Inspired by my mom and grandmother, I grew up surrounded by the warmth of the kitchen, where food was more than just a meal—it was an expression of love, tradition, and creativity. With deep Italian roots, I developed a love for baking and cooking, finding joy in creating treats that bring people together.

Over the years, my passion grew, and I found myself constantly experimenting with new flavors, designs, and techniques. Friends and family became my taste-testers, and soon, word spread about my custom creations. What started as a fun pastime quickly turned into something more.

By 2010, I knew it was time to take the leap and officially launch my dream business. Since then, we’ve proudly earned 30 awards across California, including Best Bakery and Best Cupcakes, and even took home the WINNER title on The Food Network’s Cupcake Wars!

At [desi]gn cakes & cupcakes, we believe that desserts should be just as beautiful as they are delicious. Whether it’s an elegant wedding cake, a fun birthday creation, or a box of perfectly crafted cupcakes, we pour our hearts into every bite. You can find us at local farmers’ markets and pop-up shops, or work with us to design a custom treat for your special occasion.
